Christian Aid Week 2024

This year Christian Aid Week is supporting projects in Burundi, a very poor African country that only very rarely hits the news. It has one of the highest rates of malnutrition in the world, particularly amongst children under 5, made worse by climate change and the cost of living crisis.

We have an active community at High Street raising awareness and funds for Christian Aid - so, look out for those red envelopes that will pop through your letterbox. Donation envelopes will also be available from church should you have been missed out.

As well as making financial donations, this Christian Aid Week we are being encouraged to campaign too. As a UK General Election approaches, the people hoping to represent us in the next UK Parliament will be vying for our votes. They’ll be in listening mode, keen to hear what makes the voters in their community tick. Christian Aid encourages us to tell our candidates that we care about and expect them to act on poverty if they are elected.

There is useful information on how we can each help on the Christian Aid website.
